Gods and Monsters (1998) - 1957: Der britische Regisseur James Whale, welcher durch seine Filme Frankenstein und Frankensteins Braut berühmt wurde, lebt zurückgezogen von der sogenannten „feinen Gesellschaft“. Er flirtet ganz offen mit seinem Gegenüber, was diesen zusätzlich verunsichert. Während des Interviews erleidet der Regisseur einen leichten Gehirnschlag. Nach diesem Gehirnschlag wird sich Whale der Tatsache immer mehr bewusst, dass sich sein Gesundheitszustand zunehmend verschlechtern wird. Sein Bewusstsein ist noch immer das alte, allerdings geraten seine Gedanken zeitweise außer Kontrolle. Er beginnt daraufhin, sein Ableben zu planen und regelrecht zu inszenieren.
